3 Reasons why In-N-Out Burger is worth the hype

Have you ever noticed when a East Coaster comes to California, inevitably they post a picture of their first stop at In-N-Out Burger? I confess, it’s one of the most egregious brags on Instagram I make; we have a tasty burger- nah nah nah nah nah nah - and all you can do is drool!

Mmmmm.

What is it about this burger joint that makes everyone so happy?

For those who have never had In-N-Out, the fuss seems ridiculous.

Clearly, people love the flavor of an In-N-Out burger, but is a burger joint really worthy of the hype?  This is a reasonable position to hold if you’ve never experienced the flavor of perfectly grilled onions swimming in a “secret sauce” (animal style) or if you’ve never had French Fries so preservative free that they still taste like potatoes.

Still, there are at least three other reasons burger fans hit this spot immediately after landing at LAX (and it's not just to watch the planes land!)

#1 - Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Most of the country is out of range of an In-N-Out double-double.

The family-owned business refuses to freeze their food, so they don’t have stores farther than a day’s drive from their distributions centers, which means only California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and Texas experience the In-n-Out goodness.  This leaves much of the US population out of luck (and very sad).  People who love Chick-fil-a always seem to crave it most on Sundays when their stores are closed.  Well, when you move away from California, it's like EVERY day is a Sunday without your favorite eats!

I'm not exaggerating to say fans count the minutes to touch down!

 #2 -Healthy Eating (kinda)

Sure, you’re eating a burger and scarfing down fries, but when you watch the employees take a freshly peeled potato, slice it, and put it in the fryer you ACTUALLY convince yourself the grease isn’t that bad.

I mean, the potatoes are FRESH!!!

Plus, I can get my burger wrapped in lettuce rather than a bun (why doesn’t ever chain copy this???). Who needs to worry about calories when this is an option??

Awesomeness!

#3 -Easy Decision Making

There are really only two choices at In-N-Out: what kind of burger and will you have fries with that order?

Sure, you can customize your meal by the number of patties and toppings from the published or “secret” menu, but that’s about it.  There will be no debates about whether you should “be good” and get a salad. There’s no black bean or chicken breast to tempt you away from a burger.

Plus, the prices can't be beat?

We've been out West this week and have been eating our fill of burgers, so yes, this is a brag post.  Don't hate me for it...I'm now a visitor to my homeland so I get a pass!It goes without saying if you're traveling anywhere near In-N-Out, you should stop.

Enjoy!
