Choose Growth When People Oppose You
"Have you learned only the lessons of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you! Have you not learned the great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, or treated you with contempt, or disputed the passage with you?"Walt Whitman
Buckle up.
This week you will likely face people who don't understand you. They may disagree with you behind your back or to your face. They won't embrace your perspective, and they may put obstacles in your path.
Opposition will happen. There's no changing that fact.
However, you get to decide how to respond. Will you see the disputes as an opportunity to raise your game, improve your thinking, or change your perspective? Will you see the challenges as a necessary part of your growth and a way to strengthen your skills?
Are you ready to learn the lessons?
Or are you more likely to play the victim and think, "why me?" Will you spend time licking your wounds and sulking? Will you play the blame game?
There is tremendous power in our expectations and every journey you take will come with hills, valleys, and shadows. So much of what happens next depends not on the circumstance itself, but on your response.
Choose wisely.
