What makes you feel stuck? Is it monotony? Tackling the same thing day after day?

Boring routines Repetitive tasks Predictable conversations Long drives No college football

A certain amount of predictability is fantastic, particularly when the consistency leads to things like food on the table, dependable sleep, and healthy relationships.

But no one really wants to live on The Truman Show; bland and generic isn't very satisfying. Still, the lure of what's comfortable is mighty strong.

In the short-term, life feels easy when we stick with what we know. When we lean into the familiar, when we pick up our feet and float downstream.

Go with the flow. Stick with the groove. Dance with the one that brung ya.

Think about whatever cliché sounds appealing, then remember this nugget from Scott Peck in The Road Less Traveled...

“The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.”

Don't run from your discomfort.

Stop. Say hello.

Consider why you are uncomfortable. Then, and only then, will you start searching for different ways and truer answers.

Today is a great day to start!
