The List: Revolution Doughnuts
Salted Caramel & Bacon on a doughnut?Excuse me?
I don't usually eat doughnuts because I don't love them enough to justify the calories. That and I'm a bit of a doughnut snob.
However, most of the dishes on Creative Loafing's Best Dish List live up to their billing, so I knew I was in good hands. Plus, the idea of a sweet doughnut with salty bacon sounded flat-out awesome.
And awesome it was!

You can find this beauty at Revolution Doughnuts in Decatur as well as at assorted Farmers Markets (Emory, Grant Park, and, naturally, Decatur), and you should DEFINITELY find this place! I also grabbed the vanilla bean and pumpkin spice cake because they were calling my name.
Good Grief Deliciousness!! Revolution Doughnuts does for doughnuts what Little Tart Bake Shop does for croissants. Fabulousness.
Fortunately for my waistline, Decatur is off my beaten path, so I won't be able to pop in and sample the orange pistachio (woah!), the peach slider (mmmm), or the carrot cake doughnut (though it couldn't possibly match my grandma's cake!).If your heart is set on this flavor, call in advance. They sold out a couple of times before I made it there!
